Contents of the Wine Price Index (WPI) are tables with auction data of offered and sold wines in all possible bottle formats (see bottle formats) of the internet auction house eBay. The tables include the highest and lowest prices of wines auctioned on eBay since 2003 (depending on the frequency of offers). Contents of the tables are wines offered and sold on EBAY in all possible bottle formats. New wines are constantly being added to the lists. This means that the observation period does not apply to every wine. It may well happen that a certain vintage of a wine was sold only once in several months. Especially in the new wine-growing regions of the world, there are enough expensive wines, which however
a) are rarely or not at all offered on eBay in the observed European region or
b) are not expected to increase in value
c) have little international significance
All tables of the WPI were carefully researched and each entry was checked again after the end of the auction of the respective wine. Very often, sellers have revised the respective offer during the auction - this is allowed according to eBay principles under certain conditions - and of course taken into account or not taken into account in my tables. Altered offers concerning the bottle format are not taken into account. If a seller changes his offer of >1 bottle of Latour 1990.
There is no right to completeness, as mainly well-known wineries and cult wines have been included in the tables. They may also not find their favourite wine or supposed cult wine. This is the case when the range of wines on offer has been far too small over the years to make an informative table. All prices are given in euros.

these are all Premier Grand Crus Classes of the right and left bank
b )Chateaus of Bordeaux(A-M)
c) Chateaus of Bordeaux(N-Z)
d) Italy
e) France (without Bordeaux) and Spain
f) Austria (am patriot)
g) New World(Australia-USA-Chile)
h) Sauternes and sweet wines from A. Kracher
i) Special formats(double magnum, jeroboam, imperial, etc.)
j) 12 original wooden boxes
k) Vintage - Champagne
