Twelve bottles of Bordeaux unknown Château have been taken to the International Space Station ISS by a NASA rocket. They are to stay there for a year, so that scientists can then study the effects of weightlessness on flavour development. The wines are stored in the space station at a constant temperature of 18 degrees and in the dark. The same twelve bottles are stored under identical conditions on Earth.

The project is part of a project of several universities, including the Wine Institute of the University of Bordeaux. The researchers want to use it to study the development of tannin, phenols, yeast strains, colloids and other components under the influence of weightlessness and increased radiation.
