German wines will once again be served to international guests and film stars at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival.
As "Official Supplier", the German Wine Institute (DWI) has agreed with the Berlinale for the twelfth time in a row that exclusively German wines will be served at all its official events from 7 to 17 February 2019. The wine selection includes over 20 white and red wines as well as four high-quality sparkling wines. They were selected in a covert tasting by a group of experts that included German Wine Queen Carolin Klöckner.
DWI managing director Monika Reule thanked festival director Dieter Kosslick for the long-standing partnership. Commenting on Kosslick's last year in this role, Reule added: "It was only through your efforts that we were able to give German wines this glamorous appearance on an international stage."
As part of the Berlinale cooperation, the DWI will again cooperate with the wine trade in the capital in 2019: Visitors to the festival will receive a discount on the purchase of a Berlinale wine package with three bottles of German wine at selected retailers upon presentation of their admission ticket.
