Willi Klinger, Managing Director of Österreich Wein Marketing (ÖWM) will join the management of the wine retail chain Wein & Co. This was announced by ÖWM in Wien. Klinger will also become a member of the "Strategy Circle" of the listed Hawesko Group as manager. For reasons of age, he will hand over his position at ÖWM to Chris Yorke in January.
The retail chain Wein & Co, founded in 1993, was taken over by the Hamburg-based Hawesko Group in 2018. "After the successful strategic integration into Hawesko Holding AG, a new Austrian management was sought and found in Willi Klinger," says the press release of ÖWM. "The return to Wein & Co is a real highlight of my career in the wine business and is associated with great emotions for me, because I was there 26 years ago when we brought this baby into the world with founder Heinz Kammerer in an indescribable show of strength," Klinger is quoted in it.
