The competition "Ausgezeichnete Weingastronomie" is again looking for bars and restaurants with innovative ideas in the presentation of German wines. For six years now, the German Wine Institute (DWI) has been organising the competition together with the mineral water producer Selters and the magazine "Der Feinschmecker".

The expert jury includes the wine experts Paula Bosch, Christina Fischer and Gunnar Tietz as well as the deputy "Feinschmecker" editor-in-chief Gabriele Heins and Selters managing director Otto J. Völker.

In addition to the diversity of the product range, she also evaluates how the wines are offered in the menu and by the service. Wine events or the qualification of employees are also included in the evaluation. The winners receive prize money of 3,000 euros. The prizes will be awarded in various categories, from gourmet and upscale gastronomy to hotel or international gastronomy and wine bars and restaurants.

Gastronomes can apply under awg.deutscheweine.de as of now. The closing date for applications is 31 January 2020 and the awards ceremony will take place during ProWein on 16 March in Düsseldorf.
