The public fair "Wein am Dom" (Wine at the Cathedral) in Speyer (Palatinate) came to an end on Sunday, 14.4.2019, with 170 wineries and cooperatives and around 3,600 visitors. They were able to taste around 1,000 wines at six locations in the city centre, of which around 550 were from the 2018 vintage. Overall, there were slightly fewer visitors to the largest wine fair in the Palatinate than last year. The reason was the wintry temperature on Saturday. On the milder Sunday, with 1,400 visitors, there were even more guests than last year.

Riesling, Sauvignon blanc and other bouquet varieties as well as spring wines from Rosé to Blanc de Noir were most in demand at the fair, the organisers said. In addition, the public could also explore Austrian wines from guest winemakers from Burgenland.
