The French wine fair Vinexpo is facing a fundamental change due to declining exhibitor and visitor numbers. As the "Weinwirtschaft" reports, Vinexpo Paris, initially announced for January 2020, will not take place. It is to open its doors together with Wine Paris in February at the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre. Both fairs will be organised independently, but will receive visitors in neighbouring halls. The orientations of the two fairs are also to be differentiated: Vinexpo Paris is now to attract primarily producers of spirits and major wine brands.

The traditional Vinexpo in Bordeaux is also facing a reorientation: according to the new plans, it will open annually at the beginning of April - at the same time as the primeur tastings of the châteaus. However, Prowein in Düsseldorf and Vinitaly in Verona also take place during this period.

The concept of Vinexpo is also to change fundamentally - but nothing concrete has become known about this so far. Those responsible are currently discussing various models ranging from a symposium with expert lectures to the continuation of the classic trade fair.
