The VDP regional association Ahr has accepted the Burggarten winery in Heppingen as its seventh member. The 197th winery in the VDP national association focuses its portfolio on Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir, with white Burgundy varieties supplementing the range. The winery is run by brothers Paul and Heiko Michael, who took over from their father in 2018.

The winery has about 14 hectares of vineyards along the Middle and Lower Rhine from Walporzheim to Heimersheim. Among them are great sites such as Kräuterberg or Schieferlay. The wines are matured in traditional barrels as well as in barriques.
