The Saale-Unstrut winegrowers' association has elected Hans Albert Zieger as its new president. At a press conference, the previous president, Siegfried Boy, had previously declared his early resignation "for personal reasons". Boy had led the association for 27 years. After the unanimous election of the board of directors, his former deputy will take over the management of the association.
Hans Albrecht Zieger comes from a family of winegrowers in Meissen. Through his studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Geisenheim and professional stations in Germany and abroad, Zieger is well connected in the national and international wine world. Since 2014 he has been working as the managing director of the Freyburg Winegrowers' Association, where he was previously employed as a cellar master.
