At its extraordinary general meeting on 13.11.2019, the "Association of traditional classic bottle fermenters" changed its name to "Association of traditional sparkling wine makers". The new name is "the starting signal for the quality offensive of German premium sparkling wine houses", according to a press release of the association.

The purpose of the association is to clearly and unambiguously distinguish between high-quality and handcrafted sects produced according to traditional methods, and industrially produced sects. The actions of the "sparkling wine makers" serve "to educate the consumer about the different methods used for sparkling wine production, with the aim of highlighting the high quality of the artisanal, traditional method".

The Executive Board also intends to present a new logo for the joint presentation of the operations at ProWein 2020. The specifications can now be formulated on the basis of the new statutes, a new website is currently being designed. In order to give the association of traditional sparkling wine makers more clout "various working groups" have been formed.

The executive committee is composed of

Volker Raumland (Sekthaus Raumland), President
Niko Brandner (Sparkling wine house Griesel)
Christoph Graf (Champagne Manufacture Château Vaux)
Herbert Reinecker (Reinecker sparkling wine cellars)
Ingo Simon (Champagne and wine estate Gebrüder Simon)
Heinfried Strauch (Sektmanufaktur Strauch
Clementine Perlitt (Château de Vaux champagne)
