This year, the "Glorious Rheingau Days" series of events will begin on Friday, 27 October, with the pre-opening event "VDP.Ortswein-Party & Friends" at the Künstler Winery in Hochheim, in which 17 wineries are participating. Modern snacks and a music programme will be offered to accompany the wines from the various wine-growing regions. On Friday, November 3, the ten "glorious Rheingau days" will begin with a large program which, according to the VDP, should offer "attractive events for every taste and every budget".

These include wine presentations such as the "Ruby Red Symphony" for red wines on the first Saturday, November 4, in "Breuers Kellerwelt" in Rüdesheim. At the "Rheingau Open" on Saturday, 11.11. at Johannisberg Castle, all the estates of the Rheingau VDP will present their wines together with estates of the Rheingau Wine Association and with friendly guest winegrowers from other wine-growing regions. Guests will be able to taste more than 400 wines at what the VDP calls "a moderate entrance fee".

The programme also includes exquisite gala menus, "The Giants", the fourth Charter Wine Party, a detour to the French Châteaux, a Liaison Culinaire, a "Duel of the Kings" and "Two and a Half Rheingauer". Great wines will be opened in the Adler-Wirtschaft and at Schwarzenstein Castle. At Crass Castle, eight winegrowers and eight chefs will offer guests an eventful evening with eight chefs. The 11th Edelsektparade is celebrated at Vaux Castle. In addition, the VDP has organised a "wine culture pleasure cruise" from Amsterdam to Cologne with culinary and vinological surprises.

The "Riesling Gala" in the lay dormitory of Eberbach Monastery concludes the series of events. Here, Rheingau VDP winegrowers have invited their colleagues from other winegrowing regions with their wines. The gala menu will be staged by top chefs from the region and from all over Germany. An "after-wine session" with a large selection of drinks and food concludes the Riesling Gala.

Since 1987, the Rheingau VDP wineries and many restaurateurs have been offering ten days of events after the end of the grape harvest to present their wines with excellent food and an entertaining programme.
