A few days ago, VDP winemaker Roman Niewodniczanski opened his newly built winery in Wiltingen on the Saar. More than 6,000 visitors came to the opening ceremony, which was attended by the Prime Minister of Rhineland-Palatinate, Malu Dreyer, and many renowned winemakers and sommeliers. The manufactory was built on the cellars of an abandoned bottling plant.

In addition to a cuvéetiertank with a capacity of 25,000 litres, the new cellar is equipped with over 100 small tanks, which hold between 2,000 and 4,000 litres. This means that each plot of land will be vinified separately. Furthermore, the winery now has a number of large vats made of oak from its own forests in the Eifel.

The elegant limestone and designed factory is situated on a hill and is also to develop into a tourist destination.

The Van Volxem winery produces around 600,000 bottles on 85 hectares of vineyards.
