At the tastings of the "Concours des Grands Vins Blancs du Monde" in Strasbourg, German wineries were particularly successful with their Rieslings. They achieved seven gold medals with them. In addition, German wine producers achieved two further gold and two silver medals.

German vintners convinced the jurors in Strasbourg above all with their Rieslings. Gold medals were awarded to Weingut Anselmann (Pfalz) with a 2017 Beerenauslese Edesheimer Ordensgut, Weingut Erben von Beulwitz (Mosel) with 2016 Kaseler Nies'chen "Im Taubenberg" Grosses Gewächs, Weingut Andreas Laible (Baden) with a 2016 Auslese "Am Bühl", Sektgut St. Laurentius (Mosel) with its 2015 Riesling Brut Crémant, the Karl Veit Winery (Mosel) with its 2016 Spätlese feinherb Monzeler Kätzchen and the 2015 Spätlese Brauneberger Juffer as well as the Welker-Emmerich Winery (Nahe) with its 2016 "Von den Terrassen" Rüdesheimer Wiesberg.

Gold was also awarded to Hambacher Schloss Kellerei (Pfalz) for their 2017 Chardonnay trocken and Weingut Anselmann for their 2015 Grauburgunder Barrique Edesheimer Ordensgut Auslese. The two silver medals went to Erben von Beulwitz and Sektgut St. Laurentius.
