The government of Serbia intends to develop the country's viticulture by 2030 with investments totalling 300 million euros. This was declared by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic in a government statement. Currently, vines are growing there on about 54,000 hectares, and wine exports are growing by about 20 percent annually. In contrast, wine sales in 2018 were only around 19 million euros. The state intends to use the money to support the planting of new vineyards and to grant subsidies for the purchase of technology, machinery and the construction of cellars.
