The wine retail chain Vino with 18 branches throughout Germany has sold Pieroth AG in Burg Layen to the sparkling wine producer Schloss Wachenheim in Trier. Schloss Wachenheim thus expands the branch network of Rindchen's Weinkontor with 19 stores, which was acquired in 2017. According to "Weinwirtschaft", Vino generates around 14 million euros with around 70 employees. In 2018, Vino achieved sales of almost Euro 20 million in its stores of up to 500 square meters, including an online shop. Pieroth intends to withdraw from the branch business and concentrate on direct marketing.
