The champagne house Louis Roederer has taken over the famous Californian winery Diamond Creek in the Napa Valley. With its terroir-emphasized Cabernet wines, it is one of the most famous wineries in the region. The winery has 32 hectares of vineyards, ten of which are planted with vines. The purchase price is not known. The Rouzaud family, owners of the Roederer estate, and the late estate founders Al and Adelle Brounstein had known each other for decades. Already in 1982 Roederer bought a vineyard in Mendecino, which was later renamed Roederer Estate. In 2012 the Domaine Anderson was added, and last year the Rouzaud family bought the famous Pinot Noir vineyard Merry Edwards in Sonoma.

The previous owner Phil Ross wants to continue the business "temporarily", the oenologist Phil Steinschriber continues the work.
