Rock star John Bon Jovi presented his first own wine at the "New York Wine Experience" trade fair with the 2017 southern French rosé "Diving into Hampton Water". The wine, which costs 25 dollars in the USA, consists of the grape varieties Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvèdre, 25 percent of which are aged in barriques. It is produced by a winery of the former French professional rugby player and wine entrepreneur Gérard Bertrand from Narbonne. He is the owner or manager of 13 farms in the south of France.

At the fair, John Bon Jovi told us that the idea of making wine originated at his home in the fine American holiday region of the Hamptons, when his son Jesse Bongiovi jokingly said to him that rosé was the true water of the Hamptons. "But we didn't just want to market a great name and a good story, we wanted a well-made, complex wine with power and structure that would be taken seriously in the wine scene." So after a long search, they came across Gérard Bertrand. The wine is now also available in Germany under the short name "Hampton Water" for about 17 euros.
