A legend steps down: The world-renowned winemaker of the Dom Pérignon champagne house, Richard Geoffroy, will retire from his work on 1 January 2019. He is handing over complete responsibility to Vincent Chaperon, who has been working with him as winemaker since 2005. Chaperon started his career in 1999 at Moët & Chandon, where he was promoted to "Assistant Winemaker" in 2000.

Richard Geoffroy was the chef de cave at Dom Pérignon since 1990, i.e. for 28 years. He was responsible for 15 vintage champagnes and revised the existing vintage stock several times with his "Pléntidues" concept. Geoffroy has worked with culinary legends such as Ferran Adriá and Alain Ducasse, and on special editions with artists such as David Lynch as well as Jeff Koons and most recently rock star Lenny Kravitz.

Together, he and Vincent Chaperon have produced four vintages of Dom Pérignon as well as being responsible for 13 harvests.
