The world's most important wine fair, ProWein, opens its doors to trade visitors at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre from Sunday, 18 March to Tuesday, 20 March. With over 6,600 exhibitors from all over the world, the international trade fair for wines and spirits has been sold out for several months. Suppliers from relevant growing regions of the world are represented and provide a largely complete overview of the worldwide range of wines. In addition, there is a selection of around 400 spirits.

According to the trade fair company, the newcomers include a joint stand of the Japanese government on the subject of sake and a large stand with various Palinka fruit brandies from Hungary. The newly designed special show "same but different" is dedicated to the trendy theme of "Craft". Around 50 exhibitors will be showing their products such as craft spirits, craft beer and cider in Hall 7.0.

This year, the organic section in Hall 13 will be considerably larger, and trade visitors will find all the relevant organic associations from Germany, Italy and France as well as numerous individual exhibitors from all over the world. Around 40 international exhibitors will come together here for the "Organic World" special show. The organic area is rounded off with a suitable catering concept - the Organic Lounge - and a separate lecture area.

Exhibitors from Greece have been given a new presentation area. They can now be found together with Austria and the ProWein Tasting Area in Hall 17.An expanded range of products is also to be found in Hall 9, where all exhibitors from overseas are now presented. According to the trade fair company, there are significantly more exhibitors from Australia, Argentina, Chile, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and the USA.

The supporting programme at ProWein 2018 includes many tastings in the ProWein Forum in Halls 10 and 13. In addition, there will be around 500 events at the exhibitors' stands ranging from nationally oriented tastings to cross-origin presentations such as the tasting zone of the Mundus Vini international wine award. The Champagne Lounge with 40 traditional champagne houses is located in the centre of the champagne area, where around 150 other brands will be pouring. The special show "Packaging & Design" complements the ProWein range and shows current trends and developments in packaging.
