The ProWein World trade fair is expanding its international presence with a trade fair in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The plan is "a pure trade fair as a hub for the entire Latin American region", according to a statement by the Düsseldorf trade fair company. ProWine in São Paulo will take place for the first time from 20 to 22 October 2020 at the Transamerica Expo Center. The new ProWine is organised in cooperation with the partners Emme Brasil, the foreign representative of Messe Düsseldorf in Brazil, as well as the publishing house Inner Group, which also publishes the wine trade magazine Adega.
The organisers expect about 100 international wine producers and suppliers of spirits at the first ProWine in Brazil. Initial registrations have already been received, for example from major importers such as World Wine, La Pastina and Cantu as well as from Wines of Argentina and Vinhos do Tejo from Portugal. A large seminar area will round off the presentation of wines and spirits.
The new fair is to replace Provino, which has already taken place in São Paulo in October 2019. With around 2,600 trade visitors from retail and gastronomy, over 100 journalists and more than 200 brands, the response was "very high".
