The Düsseldorf trade fair company has now cancelled ProWein 2020 after all. According to a press release, it will be "postponed" to the regular trade fair date in 2021 from Sunday, 21 March, to Tuesday, 23 March. Erhard Wienkamp, managing director of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, justifies the legal language regulation as follows: "We made this decision in intensive dialogue with our partner associations and key players in the industry. The particular challenge here was that only a very narrow trade fair time window is possible for the wine industry - which is further reduced in view of the uncertain situation caused by the Corona virus." Against this background, the decision was "the only correct consequence - entirely in the sense of the wine and spirits industry".

The "postponement" means that existing contracts between Messe Düsseldorf and the exhibitors for 2021 remain valid. The same applies to visitor tickets already purchased.

ProWine 2020 in Singapore was also postponed due to the corona virus. It will now take place from 13 to 16 July 2020.
