At the annual general meeting of the Sommelier-Union in Aschaffenburg, the wine consultant and lecturer Peer F. Holm from St. Augustin was elected new president without any dissenting votes. He is thus the fourth president in the more than 40-year history of the association and succeeds the long-standing president Bernd Glauben. Christian Frens was confirmed as Vice President. Philipp Künemund and Nicole Retter were newly elected to the board. Michael Wangler was confirmed as treasurer. The new advisory board consists of Marc Almert, Steven Rößler-McAulay, Niki Restel and Theresa Stenzel.

One of his most important goals is "to ensure more transparency within the organization," explained Peer F. Holm in his speech to the members of the Union. He also wanted to take seriously the various interests of the members of the Sommelier Union, from classic restaurants to trendy bars. He wants to be "the contact person for everyone" and act as a "link between the members".
