The Austrian Traditional Wine Estates have moved their traditional spring "Tour de Vin" to the internet. From 16-19 April 2020, just under 20 of the association's wineries will offer an online tasting. Three wines of the new vintage worth 50 euros, at least one of them Erste Lage, will be sent home by the organisers to the registered visitors in advance. They are tasted together on a fixed date together with the winemaker on the screen. Each tasting lasts about 30 to 40 minutes.
Due to the restrictions caused by the CoVid19 crisis, the "Tour de Vin" of the traditional Austrian wineries is cancelled in May for the first time in 26 years. More than 5000 guests usually come to the Danube region every year on the first weekend in May to visit the wineries in the Traisental, Kremstal, Kamptal and Wagram.
