At an auction of 1,800 bottles of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti at the auction house Baghera Wines in Geneva, a record price of 10.2 million euros was achieved. At the auction "The secret cellar of an European collector", 1,363 bottles, 158 magnums and three Jeroboam (5 litres) came under the hammer. They come from a private collection in Europe, whose owner wanted to remain anonymous.

The most expensive lot was twelve bottles from outstanding vintages between 1937 and 1991, estimated by the auction house to be worth between 100,000 and 166,000 euros. In contrast, one bidder was awarded the contract at a price of just under 487,000 euros. Many other lots exceeded the estimated price by more than double. According to the auction house, about 70 percent of the buyers came from Asia and 15 percent from France.
