The German soul singer Max-Mutzke has received the "Champagne Prize for Joie de Vivre 2019" in Hamburg. It is awarded annually by the Bureau du Champagne.

"With Max Mutzke, the Champagne Prize 2019 is awarded to a person who inspires many people with passion and personality," said TV producer and talk show host Hubertus Meyer-Burckhardt as chairman of the jury. "His passion is expressed through his vocal power and vocal diversity and is also reflected in his personal dedication and love for music. The vintners and houses of Champagne see many parallels in enjoying Max Mutzke's music and champagne."

Mutzke was honoured by Vincent Perrin, the general director of the Comité Champagne, Hubertus Meyer-Burckhardt and Günter Schöneis, the initiator of the award, which was created in 1998.
