The winemaker Mathieu Kauffmann will leave the VDP winery Reichsrat von Buhl in Deidesheim. This is reported by the "Weinwirtschaft". The reason for the separation is " different opinions about the distribution of roles and wine style", as owner Jana Seeger told the magazine.

In the course of a restructuring of the winery, Richard Grosche, who had been managing director for many years, had given up his position. He was followed by Peter Hüftlein-Seeger as second managing director next to Kaufmann, who was also to continue to take care of the sparkling wine production. Gregor Hofer had also started as another cellar master in the winery. With a "more accessible wine style, especially in the medium and basic range, the growth was to be accelerated", wrote the "Weinwirtschaft.

The businessman, who had come from the Bollinger champagne house, had managed the winery together with Grosche since 2013. According to the "Weinwirtschaft", the two had increased sales of sparkling wine to 200,000 bottles.
