Massimo Bottura from Modena, who was awarded the title "best chef in the world" for the second time in 2018, will host the gala dinner for the "Salon" wine competition of Österreich Wein Marketing (ÖWM) as guest chef. On June 18th, Bottura will be a guest chef at Vienna's luxury hotel Palais Coburg and will prepare a three-course menu with the winning wines of the competition.
Bottura has become famous for his kitchen philosophy, which makes regional ingredients shine in uncompromising quality and with creative wit. Bottura's dishes are a respectful homage to Italy's great culinary tradition without ever seeming old-fashioned.
For more than three decades the Salon Österreich Wein has been considered the national championship of Austrian wine. According to ÖWM, part of its success is based on the multi-stage, independent blind tasting marathon, which determines the best Austrian wines from thousands of entries. In 16 categories the best wine is the winner in each case. In addition, trade magazines, wine journalists and sommeliers select ten further winning wines.
