At the start of the hiking season, the German Wine Institute (DWI) has announced that it has agreed to cooperate with the hiking expert and TV star Manuel Andrack. The author of hiking books, known from radio and television, is to be the new face for the topic "Hiking where the wine grows". The starting signal is to be given on the long wine hiking weekend, to which the DWI is inviting people together with the regional wine advertisements on April 29 and 30.

According to the DWI, Andrack will be hiking through all 13 German wine-growing regions this year and will report on this in his blog and through other communication channels.

"We see the support of the prominent sympathiser Manuel Andrack as an excellent opportunity to get even more people excited about wine hiking and thus promote active holidays in the German wine regions more strongly," says DWI Managing Director Monika Reule, explaining the cooperation.

Manuel Andrack is already looking forward to his new function as a wine hiking ambassador: "I am a great fan of combining hiking with the enjoyment of regional products. I am already looking forward to exciting encounters with winegrowers and wines in an authentic atmosphere, which await me on the upcoming hikes through the wonderful wine regions."
