The French luxury group LVMH has taken over the traditional winery Château du Galoupet in La Londe-les-Maures (Côtes-de-Provence) with 68 hectares of vineyards and 89 hectares of unplanted area. Founded in the 17th century, the estate was awarded the Cru Classé classification in 1955. The winery produces 90 percent of a rosé that is very well known in France and has won many high awards in recent years. For LVMH it is the first rosé farm in its portfolio. The parties did not provide any information about the reasons for the sale or the purchase price. LVMH owns top establishments such as the Châteaux d'Yquem and Cheval Blanc, the champagne houses Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Dom Pérignon, Ruinart, Krug as well as Cloudy Bay, Numanthia, Cheval des Andes and several more.
