The main grape harvest is now in full swing in all German wine growing regions. Especially in Baden, the Palatinate or Rheinhessen, the harvest is already well advanced.

According to the German Wine Institute, varieties such as Müller-Thurgau or Sauvignon Blanc are already completely in the cellar in many regions, and the Burgundy varieties are currently being harvested.

The producers are "very satisfied" with the qualities brought in so far. Despite the exceptional dryness of this year, the expectations for the harvest quantities have often even been exceeded.

Due to the persistent dry weather, the grapes are still very healthy with a high sugar content. The warm days and cool nights ensured that the grapes continued to develop a good aroma. This is particularly beneficial for the Riesling, which will also be harvested on a large scale in the coming days.
