The VDP Rheinhessen elected Johannes Hasselbach from the Gunderloch winery in Nackenheim as the new chairman at its general meeting a few days ago. He replaces Philipp Wittmann from Westhofen, who had been in charge since 2005. Hasselbach leads the regional association together with the deputy chairmen Hans Oliver Spanier and Kai Schätzel. There is an ancient connection between the owner family of the Gunderloch Winery and the VDP, as Johannes Hasselbach's great-great-grandfather was one of the founders of the "Association of Natural Wine Auctioneers", the forerunner of today's VDP.
