Jean-Bernard Delmas, the long-standing director of the renowned Château Haut Brion, died a few days ago at the age of 83. Delmas worked for over 40 years, from 1961 to 2003, as managing director and technical director of the winery. He was also responsible to the owner family Robert von Luxemburg for all wines of the associated Domaine Clarence Dillon and since the purchase in 1983 for La Mission Haut-Brion. Jean-Bernard Delmas succeeded his father Georges Delmas in the position of estate director and winemaker.

After retiring from Haut Brion, he did not retire but worked in his last position as director at Château Montrose from 2006 to 2011.
