The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) in London and the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the two have founded a joint initiative, "The Future 50", which aims to select the 50 best young talents from all professions in the global wine and spirits industry by a high-ranking jury. Nominations should be possible from February onwards.
In addition, the WSET intends to offer a jubilee programme with over 100 events in more than 30 countries with the worldwide "Wine Education Week" from 9 to 15 September 2019 to promote interest in wine. There will be basic courses for beginners as well as food pairing seminars and many other offers on more specific topics.
