The Chinese investor Michael Kwok has taken over another winery in Bordeaux. His wine investment holding "Vignobles K" bought Château Bellefont-Belcier in St. Emilion. The Château with 13.5 ha of vineyards is situated on the "south coast" of the growing region between Château Larcis Ducasse and Château Tertre Roteboeuf.

Jean-Christophe Meyrou, the managing director of "Vignobles K", did not name the purchase price when asked by the British magazine "Harpers", but explained that the price was significantly lower than the price of recent acquisitions. His company had already been involved in the harvest and production of the vintage before the purchase, after the last estate director had moved to Clos Fourtet. The yield was reduced by 35 percent for quality reasons, Meyrou said. For him, the Grand Cru Classé vineyard is a "sleeping beauty".

The location of the vineyards and the terroir would fit perfectly with Vignobles K's portfolio. The company currently includes Château Tour Saint Christophe, Château Haut Brisson, Château La Patache, Enclos Tourmaline, Enclos de Viaud and Château Le Rey.
