The Stuttgart branch of the "International Wine Institute" (IWI) with its headquarters in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler was opened with a ceremony. Around 100 guests from the media, trade associations, the wine industry and wineries came to Stuttgart-Untertürkheim for the event. The training rooms are located directly in the premises of the "Weinmanufaktur Untertürkheim" winegrowers' cooperative.

In future, the IWI will offer a large seminar programme there. No other German wine training provider can offer such a practical approach to training content, the institute's managers emphasise. For this purpose, two training rooms, a plenary hall and a break room are available to the participants in the wine manufactory.

Being able to offer courses directly in the wine production or in the middle of the vineyards - that is a unique selling point for a technical school for sommeliers, according to Diana Maisenhölder, the future branch manager.

In addition to German degrees such as Geprüfter Sommelier (IHK), international certificates from the British Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) based in London are also offered there. The WSET is regarded as the world's leading provider of further education in the field of wine and spirits, whose courses are offered in more than 60 countries and in a total of 19 languages.
