The French Institut National de l'Origine et de la Qualité (INAO) has published a digital map with 3.8 million vineyard sites in 289 wine regions. It contains detailed data on the wine regions of Alsace, Aquitaine, Beaujolais, Bordelais, Burgundy, Corsica, Jura, Loire, Provence, Rhone, Savoy and South-West France. Champagne is not included, as the sites are currently being redefined and delimited. The Cognac vineyards are also missing, as their grapes are not exclusively used for wine production.
The map sections are of very high precision and are displayed at a scale of up to 1:266. This makes it easy to trace the boundaries of individual plots. At present, the digital wine location map is still in a publicly accessible beta version.
