Romania's largest winery Cramele Recas has had its entire production certified as vegan. The winery said it had received the certification from the French global Bureau Veritas.

The winery, founded in 1998, grows grapes of twelve varieties on 550 hectares and table grapes on 150 hectares. The production holds 7,000 hectolitres. Exports reached around eight million bottles in 2014. In Great Britain, for example, the best-selling Pinot Grigio comes from Cramele Recas. Its vegan and orange wines are also listed at the discounter Aldi.
