The French wine harvest will be even smaller than experts calculated a few weeks ago. According to the latest figures from the French Ministry of Agriculture, the yield of 42.2 million hectolitres of wine is 14 per cent lower than in 2018, compared with an extrapolation of 44.6 million hectolitres in July. The yield is thus even significantly below the average of the past five years, which is 45.3 million hectolitres. The smallest harvest volume since records began was brought in in 2017 with 36.7 million hectolitres.
