At the end of the 2018 main wine harvest, the German Wine Institute (DWI) has compiled a list of 80 Beeren- und Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA) wineries. On the basis of a survey by the Institute, the producers provide information about the Oechslegrad and the production volume. The list is available for download as pdf on the DWI website.
According to the DWI, the grape berries in 2018 "dried up into raisins in an extremely healthy way", which leads us to expect very high-quality wines. At well over 200 degrees Oechsle, the sugar content of the musts was often well above the minimum must weight required for Trockenbeerenauslese wines of 150 degrees Oechsle. According to the survey, the harvest volumes were mostly only between 50 and 200 litres. According to the DWI Trockenbeerenauslese, most of the grapes were Riesling, but also varieties such as Pinot Noir or Scheurebe were harvested. According to the German Wine Institute, the list makes no claim to completeness.
