The French association Alliance des Crus Bourgeois du Médoc has released its new three-level classification. According to the new rules, it now comprises 249 châteaux. They are divided into 179 Crus Bourgeois, 56 Crus Bourgeois Supérieurs and as the highest level 14 Crus Bourgeois Exceptionnels. They include Paveil de Luze and d'Arsac in Margaux, Le Bosq, Lillian Ladouys and Le Crock in Saint-Estèphe, Château Lestage in Listrac-Médoc and d'Agassac, Arnauld, Belle-Vue, Cambon La Pelouse, Charmail, Malescasse, de Malleret and du Taillan in Haut-Médoc.
The new rules apply to the 2018 to 2022 vintages, and the new classification was preceded by ten years of discussions on the various drafts.
