With the integration of data from the Bavarian Lake Constance region, the German Wine Institute (DWI) has further expanded the digital wine location at las developed in 2016.
Individual vineyards can be called up from the map, parcel by parcel and including the corresponding municipality and Großlage. The vineyards are recorded differently in the individual federal states. For example, for the single vineyards in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg additional information is given on soil formation, altitude, average temperature and the average annual precipitation.
The DWI has transferred the various data into a uniform format and thus made it searchable. According to the DWI, the data will be updated annually.
The map also forms the basis for a tourist interactive map, which is intended to show where the award-winning Highlights of wine culture, the "Most beautiful wine views Germany" as well as many Wineries can be found.
