Germany is the most important export country for Austrian wine. As Österreich Wein Marketing (ÖWM) reports, the volume sold there increased by almost ten percent in the first ten months of the year compared to the same period in 2018, when Austrian winegrowers exported a total of 33.9 million litres of wine worth 83.9 million euros to their northern neighbour - more recent figures are not yet available. This means that almost two thirds of all Austrian wine exports go to Germany.
