The Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG consortium has published its sales figures for 2016 and the sales forecast for 2017. According to these, a total of about 93 million bottles had been sold by the end of December 2017. This represents an increase of three percent. According to the figures, sales will increase by around six percent to 521 million euros.

According to the consortium's data, around 5.8 million bottles will be sold abroad in 2016, a twelve percent increase. The export value even rose by 14 percent to almost 181 million euros. In 2016, 151 companies exported their Prosecco Superiore DOCG abroad, 80 percent of the producers.

According to the consortium, business in Germany has developed particularly well. According to the figures, the Germans opened for around 40 million euros of DOCG Prosecco - that is 15 percent more than in the previous year. Around 120 companies sold 7.4 million bottles to German customers.
