Cognac is back: for the fourth year in a row, it has achieved an export record, according to figures from the Bureau National Interprofessional du Cognac (BNIC). According to these figures, between August 2017 and July 2018 almost 206 million bottles worth 3.2 billion euros were sold abroad. The year before, the figure was 200 million bottles.

The most important cognac market is still the USA: 87 million bottles were exported there, 60.9 million bottles went to Asia - an increase of 13.5 percent. To Europe outside France 41 million bottles were sold. Here the increase was only three percent.
