Chris Yorke from Great Britain has been appointed successor of Willi Klinger as Managing Director of Österreich Wein Marketing (ÖWM). He is scheduled to take up his office on 1.1.2020. Yorke was elected from more than 90 candidates by the supervisory board of ÖWM. Born in 1965, York has been working as Global Marketing Director of New Zealand Winegrowers since 2004. He is currently still responsible for the worldwide marketing of New Zealand wine in the marketing organisation of New Zealand wine producers.
A graduate in business administration from Aston University and the University of St. Gallen, he has held various management positions at Sony, pharmaceutical manufacturer Roche, ICI Agrochemicals and American Express. Chris Yorke is fluent in English, German and Swiss German. His induction phase at Wien is scheduled to begin in October.
