Château Lafite Rothschild offered members of the French national football team one bottle of 1998 Lafite each on Instagram after the World Cup victory in Moscow. This was the first year that France had won the World Cup. For this occasion, the château managers wrote: "A few bottles have been put aside": "Allez les Bleus! The Lafite football team - and everyone here - celebrates you, just like we did in 1998. @equipedefrance Let us know if you'd like a bottle of '98 Château Lafite Rothschild to celebrate - we've put a couple aside."
The bottle currently cost about 750 Euro in Germany. It is not known which players have accepted the offer.
