The Sauternes-Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey has presented the most expensive barrique in the world. It was made of crystal glass by the French glass manufacturer Lalique within two years in 2,000 working hours and cost "several hundred thousand euros", said estate director David Bolzan. Even the wood structure of the staves was reproduced, and the barrel hoops are made of leather.

The Lalique-Barrque weighs 400 kilograms and is used for presentation in the estate's wine cellar. It was filled with Sauternes from the 2013 vintage. Since 2013, the owner of Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is the Swiss billionaire Silvio Denz, who has also owned Lalique since 2008.
