The wave of sales at wineries in Bordelais continues. Now the renowned Château Franc Mayne on the plateau of St. Emilion has a new owner: The business, including seven hectares of vineyards, was bought by Parisian businessman and investor Jean-Pierre Savare for an unknown price. Since 2005 Franc Mayne was owned by Griet Van Malderen and Hervé Laviale.

The château produces 90 percent Merlot and ten percent Cabernet Franc, mainly on limestone soil. The winery had been offered for sale for several months before the contract was signed. Savare had already been a minority shareholder in the winery for a long time. With the purchase, he appointed Martine Cazeneuve from Château Paloumey in the Haut-Médoc as manager of the estate.
