The French fashion and luxury group Chanel has taken over the renowned organic winery Domaine de l'Ile in Provence for an undisclosed price. Founded in 1910 on the island of Porquerolles with 30 hectares of vineyards, the estate was previously managed by Sébastien Le Ber and his family. He had spent two years looking for a suitable buyer, the general manager of the Chanel vineyards, Nicolas Audebert, told "Wine Spectator".

Chanel includes Château Berliquet, Château Canon and Château Rauzan-Ségla in Bordelais, as well as the St. Supéry Estate in Napa Valley. According to "Wine Spectator", Audebert intends to continue the philosophy and is not currently planning any changes to the architecture or concept. He only wants to carefully change the composition of the grape varieties in the vineyards and bring the rosé wine more to the fore.
