The prestigious Bordeaux winery Troplong Mondot (St. Emilion) was sold last year to the French insurance group SCOR for a price of EUR 178 million. This was revealed by the daily newspaper "Les Echos"
According to the report on the massive rise in land prices on the right bank of the Gironde, SCOR paid the equivalent of EUR 7 million for one hectare of Troplong Mondot vineyards. So far, the price of Prémier Grand Cru Classé vineyards has been around two to four million euros. An end to the price increase is not yet in sight.
